Youghal is a historical seaside town, boasting a rich heritage and welcoming atmosphere. Located at the mouth of the Blackwater River – one of Europe’s most unspoilt major rivers - it is the ideal place to get away, go fishing or get on a boat and experience the thrill of power-boating, dinghy racing and yacht cruising?

The history of Youghal is excellently portrayed in the Tourist Information Centre in the town. It traces Youghal's maritime history and famous residents and visitors including Sir Walter Ralleigh and Oliver Cromwell. A walk through the town brings this history to life as you walk under the clock tour, along the old town walls, pass by St. Mary's Collegiate Church and Myrtle Grove or stroll by the lighthouse on the way to the lengthy beach.

Members of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann Craobh Eochaille come from miles around stretching from Midleton to Dungarvan. The surrounding areas also have a wealth of attractions for the visitor. The Midleton Distillery is the home of Jameson Whiskey. Nearby is the famous Ballymaloe House where one can savour the best of Cork's culinary delights. Also close is the renowned Fota Island Wildlife Park. Travel through the beautiful village of Castlemartyr or pause for a walk along the beautiful Ballycotton Bay. If you cross the Blackwater River into County Waterford you come to the beautiful seaside village of Ardmore with it's round tower and engaging history.
